This hotel is brand new and very clean. Staff is helpful and friendly. I was concerned that we were too far from downtown San Diego and the ocean, but it only took 5 minutes to get to the 8 freeway which was our central freeway for everything we wanted to do. We were very pleased with the location and was well worth an extra 5 mile drive to save $50/night over hotels that are closer to downtown. As an added bonus, they don't charge a parking fee.... many SD hotels charge upwards of $30/day in addition to their room rate! The only negative was that the A/C was a little noisy when it kicked on and off...maybe it was just my room and it was not severe enough to complain. We have no other complaints what-so-ever...was a great stay! Oh, and the pool....very nice and relaxing :)

I try to stick with Marriott properties whenever I travel on business because they seem to tailor to the needs of the biz traveler. This Courtyard was no exception. Quiet and comfortable, with Starbucks located inside! Free parking and free internet is usually standard with the Courtyards too.
