It's hard to find such a nice hotel in Pacific Beach that is steps from the sand for such a reasonable rate! I had an upstairs room with a partial view of the ocean. Decent size, freshly painted, comfortable bed, and small but nice bathroom. In the morning, coffee, juice, and muffins are set out in the lobby. If you prefer a hearty breakfast, walk down the boardwalk about 3 or 4 blocks to "Kono's". Get there early on Saturday and Sunday or you'll have a good wait but definitely worth it! My recommendation would be ANYTHING on their menu. It all looked fabulous.
I have read reviews on this hotel and some of the guests were bothered by noise. For us, this was NOT an issue and we'd stay here again.
