You pay for the best and get the best at Donovan's Steakhouse
You pay for the best, you definitely get the BEST at Donovan's Steakhouse.
Their steaks are perfectly seasoned and ever so slightly crusted on the outside, cooked perfect medium rate inside and melted in my mouth. As a side, we ordered the most outrageous potatoes au gratin and sauteed spinach. Don't bother with an appetizer unless of course you want to bring your filet home in a doggy bag. Unfortunately, there was no room for dessert either but we indulged in red wine before, during, and after our feast!

Donovan's Downtown San Diego
This is the place to be if you are looking for a hip and trendy place to go with your girlfriends to enjoy a glass or two of wine and appetizers. Eight of us went out the night before my sisters wedding and wanted to go somewhere that wasn't just your typical bar. The concierge at our hotel set us up here and it was perfect. The bar is a great place to hang out. The bartenders were so cute and really helped us have a good time. Next time I am in San Diego, Donovan's is where I will be. It's the kind of place where I might even find Mr. Right :)

Not only does Donovan's have incredible steaks but their seafood is unbelievable as well. My partner and I tried the salmon and crab and our friends tried the lobster and veal chop. We still argue to this day about whose meal was best...mine, of course (lol)
Extensive wine list- We were feeling a bit overwhelmed so our server made a couple of recommendations that went well with our entrees.
It gets a little hectic in the restaurant but the service still shines. I recommend making a reservation because the place is always jumpin'.

If you love steak, go to Donovans. Steak was absolutely wonderful - best I've ever had - and the service was outstanding! Convenient downtown location with fun clubbing nearby.
