Tucked into the Del Mar hills, Market Restaurant & Bar takes California cuisine to a new level. A gourmet-casual invention by acclaimed Chef Carl Schroeder (a San Diego native), Market’s fare tantalizes and inspires.

Schroeder takes a great deal of pride in his food and its origins: he emphasizes organic and locally-grown ingredients. The scrutiny that he applies to his ingredients carries over to the food. One entrée, however, stands apart from the rest: the Cabernet Braised Prime Beef Shortribs. It’s one of the few staples on Market’s seasonal and ever-changing menu.

Market Restaurant & Bar San Diego

The food was excellent.  I had the Carpaccio, Beef Filet, and Walnut Tort.  All were fabulous! I only wish I would have saved room for dessert.  It was well worth the trip out in the storm for such a lovely meal. 

The service was very friendly and attentive.  I will definitely return and recommend this restaurant to my co-workers.
