Tapenade
We went to dinner here for my friend's birthday. What an amazing restaurant that locates in La Jolla; it's a casual elegant French, Mediterranean dining. You'll be amazed of the extensive wine list and a perfect selection of menu options.
I started out with Raviolis aux Champignons- homemade raviolis filled with wild mushrooms, port wine, and white truffle oil sauce- amazing, moved on to Main diver scallops- unbelievable, and last but not least the decadent chocolate dessert.
Must check out this place if you're in La Jolla!

Tapenade La Jolla
The main menu at Tapenade is outstanding! My dinner was excellent; actually, it was one of the better meals I had eaten in a long time. My associate ordered the duck and I had the venison. We both started out with a nice cup of butternut squash soup and crusty rolls. We split the pear dessert both agreeing that the dessert was not the highlite of the meal, though, not bad.
This restaurant has an exellent selection of wines and even offer the half bottles.
Service is top-notch from the beginning to end.
All in all, Tapenade Restaurant in La Jolla gets 5 stars from me!

We chose this restaurant based on the award it received for SD's best french restaurant of the year, and after eating there, we would have to agree. In fact, we thought it was the best french food we have ever had here in the US.
Being that this was our first time eating there, our server recommended the tasting menu. Each item was served with a different wine that complimented the entree. Absolutely fabulous and what a presentation they do! My wife hasn't stopped talking about the fois gras...She could have made a meal out of it. We were so full that we didn't have room for dessert though they did look remarkable. Next time, we'll have to pace ourselves.
