Summary
Nestled in the heart of trendy Hillcrest, Terra offers seasonal cuisine and a casual, easy-going atmosphere. You can dine tapas-style on any of the smaller dishes like the salmon wontons or Thai spiced chicken lettuce cups – large entrees are also available, ranging from the enticing lobster macaroni and cheese (which uses asiago, brie and havarti cheeses) to the mouth-watering citrus ginger roast chicken.
Tantalizing aromas and flavors make it hard to leave Terra. Enjoy Sunday brunch on the patio while sampling a flight of several extraordinary wines. A special bar menu provides tasty little dishes like pumpkin ravioli and lobster sliders – come in during happy hour and get half-price in the bar!
This is the perfect little bistro for a light lunch or an amazing dinner any night of the week. Terra is as far from pretentious as you can get – fresh, local ingredients and tempting cocktails like the Lemon Drop allow for fine dining without the “stuffiness” of more upscale and expensive restaurants.

Restaurant Quick Facts
- Cozied into Hillcrest, Terra is a healthy bistro with an affinity for casual and relaxed dining.
- Order tapas-style dishes and share with friends, but if you're hungry you'll definitely want to go for an entree - the seared sea scallops with Yukon potato mash and a dill mushroom reduction will make your mouth water.
- You can bring your own bottle of wine for a small corking fee, or just purchase another bottle at Terra and don't worry about the corking. Wednesday is no corkage night!
- Selected martinis are $5 on Wednesday nights. Tempt yourself with the Basil Martini (citrus vodka, basil leaves and sweet n' sour) or the Key Lime Pie (vanilla vodka, key lime and pineapple juice, and heavy cream). Yum!

Terra San Diego
This was a great find for probably the best chorizo I have ever had. It is made with chicken so you feel a little healthier by eating it prepared this way. Prices are really good here, atmosphere is so-so, service was good. It is a small place that probably gets really busy on the weekend. I was there for lunch midweek and had no problem getting a table.
