Summary

Just a few blocks away from Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo, Yakitori Yakyudori may be in the heart of San Diego, but the cuisine promises an escape to a hole in the wall on the streets of Nagoya, Japan. Yakitori Yakyudori tantalizes with its namesake chicken (“yakitori” is a Japanese style of skewered chicken) and many more.

Yakitori Yakyudori has something for adventurous and not-so-adventurous diners. For those wishing for a taste of authentic Japan, try the “Top Ten” menu for Japanese palates. For traditional Western cuts, try the “Top Ten” menu for Americans. Either way, the meats are served on skewers and in small, appetizer-sized portions. But prices are cut to match the size of the food, so don’t worry.

Reservations are highly recommended because Yakitori Yakyudori is a very small and very popular eatery. Don’t despair if you’re seated at the bar—you’ll get to watch your food cooked!

Re: Yakitori Yakyudori

First time to Yakitori Yakyudori and we enjoyed our meal.  We tried various skewered meats.  A bit pricey for us but we enjoyed our special night out.  For those that like unusual types of meat, this is the place to go.  They serve everything from beef tongue to chicken heart and gizzards and everything in between.  Sounds weird but rather tasty!
