Fishing - Lake Cuyamaca is a great family lake perfect for camping and fishing. The lake is in Julian and offers free fishing classes every Saturday.
Gold Mining and Panning - Take a guided tour through one of the town's original gold mines, the Eagle and High Peak Mine. The Julian Mining Company offers gold panning and sluice box lessons.
Horseback Riding - For a small fee, you can visit a stable and rent a horse to tour the Julian mountains. Our editors recommend include Integrity Stables, Julian Stables, or Kenner Horse Ranch.
Pioneer Museum - To learn the history of Julian's gold mining boom—and bust—visit the Pioneer Museum. Nicknamed "Julian's Little Attic," the building is an old blacksmith's shop on Washington Street.
