La Jolla Cove - San Diego

La Jolla Cove is a small beach tucked in along the cliffs of La Jolla. Life gaurds staff the beach throughout the year making it a great place to play with the family. It is close to downtown and within walking distance to many La Jolla hotels. Many people use it as a starting out point for a long swim or to snorkle or scuba dive and explore the water below. The Scripps Underwater Marine Reserve is off limits to boats making it an ideal place to view marine life. Many people kayak along the shore and explore the caves along the cliffs. A public restrooms and showers are at Scripps Park adjacent to the cove. Street parking in the area can be hard to come by, expecially in the summer so you might want to park in a lot or be prepared to walk a distance. The La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club is not located in the La Jolla Cove, it is a mile or so north of town.
