 San Diego Zoo
San Diego Zoo is world famous and is one of the most progressive zoos in the entire world. The zoo is home to over 4,000 animals and more than 800 species. The 100acre part is a little hilly so the zoo offers a guided bus tour and a gondola that will take you from one side of the zoo to the other for an extra fee (this gives you an excellent view of Balboa Park and Downtown San Diego).
The zoo's animals are truly a sight and no matter when you go you are sure to experience something special. One of the most popular exhibits are the Giant Pandas on loan from China for research and reproduction. You can also see big cats in Cat Canyon. There are also koalas, giraffes, gazelles, okapi and polar bears. The apes are fun to watch as they are often playful and the gorillas are fascinating to watch as well. The San Diego Zoo is a really special place where animals of the world are the main attraction.
