On the inside, the tables are covered with classic red and white checkered cloths. The walls are decorated with scenic paintings that lead upward to built-in wine racks, and a cone-shaped roof that resembles a 14th century "I Trulli" (an architectural style still popular in Southern Italy.) The dining quarters are small, yet intimate. Even though this place can get quite crowded, you can easily have a conversation without having to raise your voice. The wait staff is always cheery, friendly and very well-versed with everything on the menu.
They also have no problem accommodating special requests, so don't be afraid to mix and match different dishes with different sauces and so forth. A few delectable appetizers to start off with include: Bruschetta, Caprese and Salsiccia da Vinci, along with a variety of fresh green salads and minestrone soup. Homemade pastas grace the menu daily such as gnocchi, lasagna and ravioli. Seafood lovers can choose from various pastas with shrimp, clams, mussels, salmon or fish of the day. Popular favorites include the Scampi al Gargano and Linguini Mediterraneo. Vegetarian dishes include Spaghetti alla Principessa and Penne al Bacio. For dessert, the tiramisu is spectacular.

My all-time favorite food is Italian and that is why I chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner. It was about 15-20 minutes from our hotel and well worth the drive. All of there pasta is homemade on their premises. The Italian bread is served hot and crispy. We did not order any appetizers but saw some amazing things at the tables around us. Our entrees were unique and delicious. The dinner ran us about $20 per person and completely filled and satisfied all of us. We have recommended this restaurant to our friends that work in Escondido.
